The Texas coast is at risk, and each year its situation grows more dire. The Texas General Land Office (Texas GLO) needed a way to not only convey what is happening along the Texas Coast and how serious the situation is, but also the economic and ecological value that the coast brings to the state of Texas and the nation.
The biggest challenge of the project is that we had eight days to complete it, from concept to finish. A honed in concept, multiple late nights with the content editor on site, help from a contractor to build out some of the key, time-intensive infographics, and a trusting, communicative client helped make this project a success.
The piece needed to stand out and compel people to open it and delve in. Vivid pops of color throughout the piece help to highlight key information, while beautiful imagery of the Texas coast contrasts with a neutral tan creating a vibrant, colorful look that reflect the region. Illustrations and infographics throughout help the data be more interesting and digestible for the viewer.
